While to some it may seem as though he has only recently arrived on the Soca scene, artistes and musicians in the Caribbean will attest to having been assisted by the artiste and producer known as GBM Nutron for many years. Having been relatively quiet until recently, the New York based music producer, songwriter and artiste eventually began surfacing when credit was given to his work by singers such as Shal Marshall and Jaiga.
Fuelled by passion and a natural will to deliver the very best, GBM Nutron whose real name is Jason Carter, was born in Trinidad and Tobago before migrating to the United States. He has worked with several top names in the Soca music industry, among them, Machel Montano, Destra Garcia, Lyrikal, Shal Marshall, Ravi B and even Fay-Ann Lyons. His foray into the limelight as an artiste came after years of producing behind the scenes as one part of GBM Productions. Even before his name became popular, the sight of accolades was abundantly clear. In 2011, “Bend Over”, a song written and produced by Nutron and his partner, Kenwyn Holder, but sung by Machel Montano, was nominated for a Soul Train Music Award.
Nutron is credited in part for contributing to the return of the Groovy vibe in today’s much enjoyed Soca music. Since 2013, when he made the decision to infect the world with his sweet vocal ability, GBM Nutron has released songs like, Bubblin”, “Wine up on U”, “My Gyal”, and “Scene.
His most recent hits include, “Calypso”, “Only Good Vibes” “Rock You Out” and “Bacchanal”.
